When I was in 5th grade or so I chose to learn how to play the saxophone, thinking it was the coolest instrument I could learn because jazz was the coolest music I knew about. I don´t think I even knew any jazz artists or songs, it was all just an abstract idea in my head. Both my younger brothers, however, decided to go down a different path and learn the trumpet instead. High school marching band in the U.S.A. jaded me a little bit against trumpet players, and I could never get more than two notes out of a trumpet whenever I tried to play it. My dad used to play trumpet too, now that I think about it.... Anyway, so it´s not like I hate the trumpet, but it was always just one of those instruments that didn´t enthuse me too much.
So when I came across someone's webpage and learned of his absolute hatred of the trumpet I was inspired to go through some of my music and purposefully pick out some tracks that contain trumpet in a way that I actually do find pleasant, or where the trumpet is not a protagonist, but it´s presence contributes to the overall pleasantness of the atmosphere of the song.
